About
Joyce Becker Lee has seen a lot of changes, worn many hats, been many people. She is first and foremost a mom, her most important role, but writing has always been a very close second. As such, she has written for newspapers, radio and magazines, has developed textbooks and maintains an online newsletter and blog presence. Her fiction, poetry, and features have been published locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally, and she has earned state awards in journalism and community service. A former high school English/Drama teacher, she recently earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Northwestern University, where one of her stories was nominated to appear in The Best New American Voices 2010. In addition, she is the author/composer of a dozen children’s plays and musicals, all of which have been produced and await publication by some forward-thinking publisher. In her spare time she enjoys performing in and directing plays and musicals.
